Position Description
The School of Nursing at Downtown Atlanta is seeking applications for two full-time, non-tenure-track faculty positions within our School of Nursing. This nine-month role entails teaching responsibilities in both our undergraduate and/or graduate programs, as well as active engagement in scholarly pursuits. Additionally, responsibilities include providing student advisement and mentoring, along with involvement in service activities at the school, university, and within the community. Rank placement will be determined based on candidates' prior clinical and/or teaching experience. A Ph.D. in Nursing or equivalent doctoral degree, D.N.P., or D.N.S., along with previous teaching experience, is preferred.
Required Experience
Applicants must possess a minimum of two years of nursing practice experience. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching or precepting experience. Clinical expertise in medical-surgical and women's health nursing is preferred, although expertise in psychiatric nursing, pediatric nursing, and community health nursing will also be considered.
Required Education
Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in nursing or equivalent qualification for the Clinical Instructor and Clinical Assistant Professor level.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Preferred qualifications/experience include a Ph.D. in Nursing or equivalent doctoral degree, D.N.P., or D.N.S., demonstrating a strong foundation in nursing research and scholarship. Additionally, prior teaching experience is highly desirable. Clinical expertise in medical-surgical and women's health nursing is preferred, although expertise in psychiatric nursing, pediatric nursing, and community health nursing will also be considered. If holding APRN or CNS certification, certification should be active or current.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates for the position should possess a comprehensive understanding of nursing principles, practices, and theories, with expertise in medical-surgical and women's health nursing preferred. Proficiency in psychiatric nursing, pediatric nursing, and community health nursing is also valued. Effective teaching skills, including the ability to engage students at both undergraduate and graduate levels using diverse instructional methods, are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to scholarly activities, such as research, publication, and presentations, and be capable of providing mentorship and guidance to students. Collaboration with colleagues, students, and community partners is vital, as is active participation in school, university, and community service activities. Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and leadership potential are also key attributes for success in this role. Overall, candidates should possess a combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities that align with the mission and vision of the School of Nursing.
Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations, etc
Applicants must hold or be eligible for a Georgia RN license. Additionally, if applicable, APRN or CNS certification should be active or current. Other relevant certifications or registrations in specialized areas of nursing practice are advantageous and will be considered positively during the application review process.
