Job Description

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a diligent and synergetic Kitting Quality Inspector to uphold our Quality Control team, delivering results for our assembly and business initiatives.

This role will be a full-time position, Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm, based out of our Buford, Georgia facility.

The team

Avantor's Quality Control team is part of our Manufacturing Quality business unit. This team supports the quality and integrity of various department lines at the Buford, Georgia facility by performing kit assembly, reviews, inspections, and releases.

What we're looking for

  • Education: High School completion or equivalent (GED) preferred

  • Experience: Basic computer skills (e.g. email access & correspondence, calculate basic math) required

  • Lanugage: Must be able to communicate in English. Can grasp the main ideas of long blocks of text or conversation even when abstract concepts or some irregular language is applied. Verbal and written communication is clear, varied and nuanced over a range of topics.

  • Collaboration Tool: Microsoft 365 experience preferred

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g. medical device) is highly preferred

    • Prior experience working with an assembly-type process or in Quality Control

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Stays in sync with company policies, procedures, work instructions and training requirements.

  • Carries out responsibilities in compliance with the Quality Manual and applicable regulations (cGMP, MDD and GDPMDS).

  • Performs attribute inspection activities to determine acceptability of kit, components, and/or shipped packages; documents the results.

  • Sends kit back to production team or manually corrects kit when errors are discovered; documents and tracks any errors.

  • Performs batch record review for conformance to Good Documentation Practices.

  • Performs assembly lot review and forwards documentation to Supervisor/Manager.

  • Positively influences peers and other line-level personnel to comply and adhere to applicable requirements.

  • Physically demarcates, stages, packs and/or palletizes accepted kits/shipped orders.

  • Assists in the maintenance of an organized production environment, free of distractions and debris.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)

Typically works on the production floor thermostatically controlled to room temperature with adequate lighting and ventilation and with occasional elevated noise levels.

May work a portion and/or the entirety of the day in a general warehouse environment with adequate lighting and ventilation with occasional elevated noise levels and a varying range of temperatures.

Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.

Some physical effort is required; the job position frequently requires walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or possibly carrying objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
