Responsibilities

As a Database Developer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with our experienced team of developers to design, develop, and maintain our databases. This paid internship will provide you with valuable real-world experience in database management, SQL programming, and data analysis. This is a hybrid position. You will work in the Ashburn, VA location when required.

    Assist in the design, development, and implementation of database systems.
  • Work with senior developers to create and maintain database structures and objects, such as tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Participate in data modeling and database schema design.
  • Collaborate with software developers to ensure efficient and seamless integration of databases with applications.
  • Help with database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Support data migration and data loading tasks.
  • Assist in maintaining data integrity, security, and confidentiality in compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Contribute to the development of database documentation and user guides.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in database development.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts and techniques.
  • Understanding of database design principles and best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with data accurately.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude.
