Position Summary
The UGA SNAP-Ed Research Professional will be responsible for the collection, management, and analysis of formative, process, and outcome evaluation data; coordinate the development and delivery of policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) change interventions; and support the design and pilot-testing of education materials for the UGA SNAP-Ed as required by USDA.

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities
Program Evaluation:
  • Support quantitative (e.g., interviewer-administered surveys) and qualitative (e.g., focus group interviews, in-depth interviews) data collection for the purposes of programming and research activities for UGA SNAP-Ed while working with various stakeholders and SNAP-Ed eligible individuals.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Conduct field tests of direct and indirect nutrition education materials and messages on a regular basis to provide input to the design and production of UGA SNAP-Ed education materials to be distributed statewide.
  • Prepare abstracts and manuscripts for publication.

Duties/Responsibilities
Policy, Systems, and Environmental:
  • Provide technical assistance and training on PSE to staff and partners addressing topics such as policy interpretation and the development and implementation of evidence-based/best practice PSE strategies.
  • Select appropriate resources and materials to inform, educate, and empower partners to provide effective nutrition and physical activity PSE within the scope of the SNAP-Ed nutrition education and Obesity Prevention Grant.
  • Collaborate with the UGA SNAP-Ed Evaluation Team (i.e., Evaluation Coordinator, Evaluation Specialist, and Research Professional) to design and conduct PSE related evaluation, including needs assessment using mixed methods approaches, community resources mapping, and process and outcome evaluation.
  • Develop and update PSE and data collection and management protocols and procedures.
  • Enter PSE and other UGA SNAP-Ed evaluation data to be used for Annual and EARS reporting and various programmatic reports; Monitor the quality of evaluation data and the compliance of SNAP-Ed county-based team to follow recommended data collection and management protocols and procedures.
