Arconic is seeking an EHS Administrator to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN.

Profile: The primary purpose of this role is to provide administrative support for manufacturing operations and EHS functions.


Essential Functions: The EHS Administrator within AEX requires technical and interpersonal skills essential to team work. Major duties include but are not limited to:

  • Submit Hours/Headcount into Sphera on a monthly basis.
  • Collect and calculate between 30-60 critical 8 forms along with numbers provided by environmental and Metric 5 report provided by Medical. Input into Sharepoint monthly.
  • Collect and send out monthly Pigeon and Sanitation Audits from Joint Works Committee.
  • Collect and file all training regarding Environmental, Health, and Safety.
  • Update Fatality Prevention (FP) tracker through Sharepoint.
  • Create and close out Fatality Prevention incidents in Sphera.
  • Order supplies through Arconic Mall for Safety, Environmental, Security, ERT, and Medical.
  • Work directly with venders (i.e., MSC) to order required PPE.
  • Submit Miscellaneous Shipping Orders (MSO's) when required for returns, calibrations, etc.
  • Create Purchase Orders (PO's) through Oracle for Safety, Environmental, and Security.
  • Clean up open PO's that were inherited from previous EHS employee's no longer at Arconic, also ensuring proper steps are taken to close these out.
  • Review, verify, and approve invoices.
  • Assist EHS and Joint Works Committee out on the floor when needed.
  • Assist EHS in New Hire Orientation by giving Ergonomics class.
  • Coordinate any required training by creating sign up rosters and reserving a respected area.
  • Set up required EHS and ERT meetings through Outlook, attend meetings to assist in any administrative duties.
  • Pull energy data from Strata and send to environmental monthly.
  • Create a report through Process Control Network (PCN), pull Al-Li Dryer Trend Report and send to environmental monthly.
  • Collect data for waste, water, air, and energy. Input final numbers into Cority monthly.
  • Collect employee information regarding sizes and uniforms needed for department. Use this information to send out orders to Aramark via email weekly.
  • If employee is swapping to a new department, collect information and swap uniforms.
  • Receive and review monthly Loss/Ruin Report, accept charges that apply.
  • Review invoices for accuracy and submit monthly PO for amount.
  • Remove employees no longer at Arconic from invoice, collect uniforms to turn in, to avoid access charges.
  • Meet with Aramark Representative Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to receive for new uniforms. Update Uniform Sign-out Sheet and organize uniform racks.
  • Review lockers in the male and female main locker room on a quarterly basis to ensure they are assigned to employees still at Arconic.
  • Review sign-out sheets and current uniforms on rack to ensure they reflect on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Update 'Uniform's Available for Pick Up' slides every time new uniforms are received for. Email updated slides to Admin in charge of Plant TV Slides and Supervisors.
  • Attend monthly meetings with Aramark and Arconic.
  • Coordinate meetings with General Manager when problems arise.
  • Currently an ongoing project to improve uniform management and quality.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. *730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of administrative skills, including experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), graphics, and data base computer skills
  • Higher level administrative training and experience
