Arconic is currently in search of Area Lead to join our Kawneer Team in Visalia. $26/hour is base pay for this position. As part of the production lead team the Area Lead will be responsible for all safety and workflow related to the assigned primary and secondary areas of responsibility. They will implement and execute a department strategy that includes product operations and inventory management. They will oversee and coordinate activities of team members engaged in issuing material, supplies, merchandise, or tools and compile stock records in warehouse along with team members involved in operating machinery, fabricating, and packaging industrial windows.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES included but not limited to the following.

  • Adhere to all Kawneer rules and regulations.
  • Confers with supervisors and leads of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Works with Supervisor to establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Conducts departmental meetings regarding safety, department changes, and company communications.
  • Studies work orders, requests for movement of raw materials and finished products, and reports of warehousing space available to develop schedule for crib department activities.
  • Verifies or prepares records such as routing slips, material requisitions, MDR forms, and job orders.
  • Interprets work orders and part requests to workers and assign duties.
  • Uses JDE system to back flush orders, transfer materials, check order status, etc.
  • Participates in daily team leader meetings.
  • Oversees and assists with preventative maintenance of all equipment within the department.
  • Tracks material needed to complete work orders.
  • Performs cycle counts.
  • Quality control liaison for department related corrective action activities.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean work area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One to six years related work experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondents.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other employees and supervisors.
  • Ability to count, to add, to subtract and to multiply simple numbers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with and respond to minor problems in standard work situations.
  • Ability to obtain a mobile equipment license, electric pallet jack certification, forklift certification, and side-loader certification is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees and supervisors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to repetitively lift up to 40 pounds or 1/3 of your body weight.
  • Able to work 12-hour days.
  • Able to wear required PPE.
  • Able to bend and twist repetitively.
