We have a contract opportunity for a Tissue Culture Lab Tech in Gainesville GA. This position is initially approved for 6 months and could be extended.

Pay Rate: $20.00/Hr.

To be eligible you cannot have birds or chickens of any kind.

Summary: Assists in all areas in the production of Marek's disease vaccine.

Job Description:

  • Performing all processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Always utilizes sterile technique.
  • Active knowledge of working under laminar flow hoods and HEPA filtered environment.
  • Communicates any occurrence to team leader and/or supervisor immediately.
  • Responsible for keeping the lab area clean and sterile at all times.
  • Individual monthly responsibilities are assigned in each lab.
  • Individual must ensure these activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assists in receiving roller bottles in labs and receiving roller bottles in holding area.
  • Assists with the candling and racking of eggs in Incubation department.
  • Maintains accurate and timely manufacturing records.
  • Promotes safety and awareness in the lab, always acting in occurrence with safety practices.

The hours are as follows:
Mon - 7:00AM to 5:00PM
Tues - 7:00AM - 4:00PM
Wed - 7:00AM - 2:30PM
Thur - 7:00AM - 5:00PM
Fri - 7:00AM -12:30PM

**Labs rotate coming in at 6am and some overtime should be expected.
**There is a rotated weekend work once trained. It is typically 6AM or 7AM until 10AM on Saturday and 6AM or 7AM until 11AM on Sunday. The techs working the weekend get the prior Wednesday off.

Skills:
Individual must be fully trained in a timely manner on sterile technique and general lab procedures.
Able to lift 50 lbs. and carry it 10 ft.
Comfortable standing on your feet for extended periods of time and work in a sterile environment.
Must be flexible with availability. This position requires weekend work.
Regular attendance is critical.

Education: HS Diploma or GED (Addition Science Education a plus)
