The Talent Acquisition Partner is responsible for full-cycle, results-driven sourcing and recruiting efforts to meet the talent resource needs of an assigned location.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned. A teammate in this position must have the ability to:

  • Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan to address the talent resource needs of the assigned location.
  • Develop applicant pools by researching and contacting various sources such as community services, trade schools, colleges and leveraging internet database sites and social media sources.
  • Coordinate recruitment marketing campaigns with hiring authority and internal marketing resources.
  • Leverage available tools and technology to be as efficient and effective as possible.
  • Own all parts of the requisition creation and hiring process through utilization of the company's applicant tracking system with input from the hiring manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation affecting the hiring process such as OFCCP and EEOC, etc.
  • Networking via phone, social media and other miscellaneous candidate sources to engage and develop a candidate flow for current and future hiring needs.
  • Direct source candidates from competitors.
  • Assess the qualifications of applicants for numerous positions within the region by conducting initial application/resume reviews as well as video conferencing, phone and in person interviews.
  • Clearly and accurately communicate the company's employee value proposition to potential candidates.
  • Clearly articulate the job duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits and opportunities for advancement within the company to all candidates.
  • Present candidate profiles to hiring managers highlighting the candidates match for the role.
  • Know how to help management assess candidates. Beyond behavioral assessments, must be able to understand and assess the expertise required to do the job well and then explain to the hiring manager how a candidate meets these requirements.
  • Explain - verbally and in writing - complex or new information to customers about the role and company, and to clearly present a multitude of options that must be understood and digested before making a decision.
  • Works closely with hiring managers to build strong working relationships and clear understanding of the teams needs and preferences; managing their expectations on who, what, and when a successful hire will be delivered.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of communication with hiring managers to provide candidate overview, update on hiring progress, a start date and/or issues.
  • Set up and direct interviews for assigned location.
  • Continually engage candidates as they move through the hiring steps ensuring that they have a clear understanding of their current status and future steps.
  • Gather appropriate data on activity and performance in comparison to a set of predetermined metrics and provide an overview format monthly.
  • Prepare, present and document offer letters and denial correspondence.
  • Pursue ongoing education and training to stay up to date on the latest industry trends not just within the recruitment realm but also within the company's industry.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
A teammate in this position must have:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a recruiting role focused on high volume hiring.
  • Preferred experience includes recruitment of distribution center personnel and CDL-A drivers, serving as a consultant to hiring managers, working with HRIS, and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) software, conducting job fairs, and situational and/or behavioral based interviewing techniques.
  • A proven ability to develop candidate pipelines utilizing a variety of sources to include direct sourcing, networking, and social media.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to effectively explain complex and new information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a friendly manner with all customers including hiring managers, job candidates and co-workers.
  • Ability to champion a world-class candidate experience for all applicants.
  • Ability to understand and communicate McLane's business needs to prospective candidates.
  • A willingness and ability to travel to field locations with overnight stay. (25%).
  • Experience and familiarity with all legislation impacting the hiring process such as (Title VII, PDA, ADEA, ADA, GINA, IRCA, FCRA, OFCCP).
