Job Description

Plant Superintendent - Night Shift

Reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager, the incumbent will lead a wood products production plant to work injury-free/incident free in a batch manufacturing environment consistent with our Principled Based Management (PBM) philosophy and framework. They will ensure the safety of our employees and support an approach to optimize the constraints in our process machine centers.

What You Will Do

  • Support Operations by validating that we are operating within our expected Standards.
  • Ensuring all departments operate effectively and efficiently;
  • Execute our Safety Vision through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards.
  • Fully utilizing Work Process to develop job plans, track work completion and promote preventive & predictive maintenance;
  • Facilitating team development and growth, and reviewing/managing performance;
  • Building employee commitment and ownership, and holding employees accountable;
  • Identifying contributions and missed opportunities.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Four (4) or more years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment required
  • Three (3) or more years of supervisory or management experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment
  • Experience in leading a department or organization in EH&S, Reliability, Production , Cost and Quality Excellence
  • Experience in analyzing production data to eliminate waste and foster continuous improvement
  • Must have working knowledge and experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to learn various PC-based production and operations applications
  • Must be able and willing to work a flexible work schedule
  • Must be able and willing to work in an industrial manufacturing plant including extended periods of time in noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas
  • Must be able and willing to work safely, and promote safe work practices
  • Must have experience in employee performance management and change management as it relates to furthering our PBM based culture


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or a similar discipline AND three (3) years of supervisory or management experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment -OR- Associate's Degree in a technical field AND five (5) or more of supervisory or management experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment
  • Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) - SAP, MP2, ActivePlant
