CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Trafffic Signal Field Technician to join our Infrastructure - Transportation/Traffic & ITS Team at our office in either Atlanta or Duluth, GA.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA's Traffic and ITS team provides planning, analysis, modeling, and design development for public and private sector clients. Our team of traffic engineers, transportation planners, and technical staff provide a comprehensive breadth of knowledge and experience in all facets of modal mobility, accessibility, safety, technology, and deployment. From roadside sign inventories and safety audits to the latest intelligent transportation system (ITS) innovations and applications, our professionals are adept at managing the entire design development and implementation process.

The Trafffic Signal Field Technician provides technical support to engineering staff on ground level traffic signal and ITS infrastructure. The individual in this role has broad knowledge of traffic signal and ITS equipment and components and can troubleshoot, repair and/or install new equipment as issues arise. Specific duties may include the following:

    Assist with installation, repair, and general maintenance at an intersection
  • Respond to traffic signal malfunctions and perform necessary repairs
  • Perform ground preventative maintenance activities at an intersection
  • Troubleshoot field equipment including traffic cabinet components and detection equipment
  • Troubleshoot ITS network infrastructure and plan/design additional infrastructure as needed

Additionally, this role will work closely with the Senior Field Technician and/or the Project Engineer to complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual, and company requirements. The Trafffic Signal Field Technician will be responsible for documenting the weekly and monthly activities for reporting purposes as well as performing any other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • IMSA Certification(s) preferred
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a traffic or ITS technician, signal contractor, or electrician preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot traffic signal components/wiring and develop an action plan to resolve issue or relay information to appropriate staff
  • Ability to develop a design or repair sketch to be submitted to signal contractors clearly depicting necessary work to be done
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite preferred
