We are currently looking for a Wholesale Pricing Analyst who craves a role encompassing a diverse range of responsibilities that will support their ongoing growth and development, spanning from day-to-day operations to exciting projects and initiatives.



The Wholesale Fuels Pricing Analyst provides direct support to Wholesale sales team in the entering margins, computing netbacks, approving of day deal profitability and training the sales team on the use of tools and process. The Wholesale Fuels Pricing Analyst will review all quotations, quote emails and do a deep data analysis of allocation and margin optimization. This role is responsible for reviewing and working with the sales team in all phases of the development, review, and acceptance of price quotes and bids.

Responsibilities

Sales Support:

  • Processes multiple daily price adjustments to increase sales or optimize profitability.
  • Sets margins specific to multiple variables on a daily basis in collaboration with sales per netback reporting, intel and sales data.
  • Coordinates with supply channels and operations to optimize pricing and margin
  • Review daily lifting by market and communicate necessary adjustments to ensure sales continuity.
  • Sets monthly forecast and drives performance on supply commitments through margin optimization and collaboration with sales.
  • Responsible for using market pricing trends and competitive analysis to evaluate focus markets.
  • Manages credit allocation issues through collaboration with sales and credit team.
  • Manages product allocation alerts through collaboration with customer, sales, and supply.
  • Timely system entry of day deal contract pricing.
  • Implements and manages day deal process that prioritizes supply requests and streamlines feedback.
  • Prioritizes and manages escalation of loading or pricing setup requests.
  • Owns loading code setup processes for reuse and assignment of supply options with limited codes.
  • Regular review and maintenance of customer price quotes and send methods.

Reporting/Documentation

  • Investigate P&L issues in daily business, help provide insight and commentary related to weekly DOPLR and monthly SCAR reports
  • Manages loss reporting and sales analysis to ensure billing accuracy and profitability.
  • Review expected margin analysis reporting for pricing errors daily.
  • Work with Customer Relationship Managers to take appropriate action to correct internal errors with respect to billing customers
  • Report on win/loss process, metrics and reporting
  • Provide material, analytical reports, and correspondence to sales teams and management as requested.
  • Review of pricing to sales comparison tools to identify and communicate needed changes to customer pricing.
  • Completes and maintains accurate records of approved deals, contract terms, and customer documents.
  • Monitors and notifies sales of upcoming contract expirations and renewals.
  • Implement, monitor, and manage tools to be used in process implementation
  • Maintains training documentation on policies and process
  • Prioritize tasks each day so that the most important tasks are completed to maximize company profit


Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree required

Knowledge & Experience

  • Petroleum Industry specific experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years business experience preferably in an analytical type of role.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining data, generating reports and extracting data from various system
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience driving sales through analysis and price setting
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (Must have Pivot Tables and Vlookups or XLookups)

Qualifications & Characteristics

  • Ability to build and maintain complex computer applications and programs that perform analysis, organize data and create reports from various sources
  • Ability to capture and document reporting requirements from multiple sources
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Intermediate knowledge & proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel and Access
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • The ability to multi-task
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • Data management software highly desired
  • SQL language experience highly desired

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work available once training is completed - 3 days in the office, 2 days remote (40+ hour work week)
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
