Whether you are a professional athlete, weekend warrior or student athlete, our team at Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute-Sports Medicine provides comprehensive care based entirely on the needs of athletes of all ages. We offer expertservicesfor the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of all sports-related injuries. We focus on helping you reach your health and fitness goals, but also reach your peak athletic performance.
Operates X-Ray and fluoroscopic equipment to produce routine radiographs of designated portions of the human body.
- Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays, following established procedures. Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
- Examines radiologic film for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification and distortion.
- Develops and processes radiologic film. Delivers film to requester for reading/interpretation.
- Maintains x-ray exam room. Stocks necessary medical and radiological supplies.
- Responsible for dissemination of x-ray reports and x-rays, maintaining a location log
- Schedules radiologic exams to be performed at outside labs, as necessary.
- Gathers and prepares x-rays with physician interpretation for radiologist over read.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
- Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Certified in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
- Prior experience in diagnostic radiology.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY THE STATE OF GEORGIA
- Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
