Shift : NIGHTS

Mission Statement

I am expected to contribute to our mission statement: to be the best people to do business with in the flooring industry. Summary To install, fabricate, and/ or repair electrical systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Required to know all skills from Electrician Grade 2
  • Perform routine electrical maintenance on machinery and buildings
  • Perform troubleshooting on machinery and buildings
  • Perform and troubleshoot drives, as well as re-program using a manual or drawing
  • Perform and troubleshoot machinery control systems (PLC's)
  • Must have knowledge of electrical drawings as well as ability to read ladder logic
  • Overtime is/may be required.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The following items are required PPE for this position: Uniforms; Electrical Tools; Boots; Face Shield; Gloves; and Safety Glasses.

Safety

No exposed jewelry can be worn - (i.e. - rings, watches, ear rings, etc.)

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Qualifications

  • Required to know proper electrical practices
  • Required to know proper safety practices with electrical equipment
  • Perform Light Welding Duties
  • Required to perform general maintenance duties, outside of electrical, as required
  • General understanding of NFPA 70
  • Must understand principles of programmable controllers
  • Must understand how VFD drive systems work
  • Must have knowledge of electrical drawings as well as ability to read ladder logic
  • Must have working understanding of proper electrical safety procedures including OSHA and NFPA 70e
