About the College/Unit/Department
Part of the Division of Student Affairs, University Housing consists of nearly 2.8 million square feet of facilities and is home to more than 9,000 students. The department employs 220 full-time staff members, 21 graduate assistants and 565 undergraduate student workers. As a self-supporting auxiliary, University Housing operates a $59 million budget derived only from student housing fees and other non-state sources. 
In support of its mission to provide comfortable, affordable and secure housing options where the academic success and personal growth of residents are encouraged and supported, University Housing engages staff members in competency-based training and students in curriculum-based engagement focused on community building, interpersonal skills, social awareness and responsibility, and well-being.

Transfer tools, parts, equipment and supplies to and from work stations and other areas.

Assist or perform maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical and AC equipment change out as needed.

Assist or perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as AC equipment cleaning and filter changes, drain maintenance and fire extinguisher or emergency light inspections.

Minimum Qualifications
Position Summary
This is a full-time temporary position with the Department of University Housing. The primary purpose of this position is to lend assistance to skilled trade and maintenance workers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, electrical and/or electronic components found within Housing facilities.

Physical Demands
1. Climb stairs, ladders and scaffolds; may work from a ladder or scaffold. 
2. Bend at the waist and the knees. 
3. Work with arms and hands overhead for extended periods of time. 
4. Use hand tools and power tools. 
5. Lift and move items at least 50 pounds in weight, both assisted and unassisted. 
6. Crawl to complete various tasks. 
7. May occasionally perform work related duties outdoors, in hot or cold weather conditions.
